Press Release: Incheon International Airport opens direct rail link to Seoul2011-01-05
A new direct rail link opened in 2010 December that allows passengers to get from Seoul Station, which is located in the heart of Seoul, to Incheon International Airport, the city's main air hub, in under 50 minutes. Currently, the most common form of transport to the airport is the airport shuttle bus, which takes anywhere between 1.5 to two hours, depending on the point of departure and traffic conditions.
This railway should not only ease the congestion of airport-bound traffic, but also make it easier and less expensive for tourists and residents to travel to the airport. The airport bus is anywhere between 10 to 20USD and taxis can cost up to 40USD. The railway, however, is costs passengers only 12USD at a flat fair.
